Established in 1925, Security State Bank currently has 5 branch locations and 7 ATM locations in Frio, Atascosa and Medina Counties. The Bank is nearing completion on a new drive-thru facility in Devine, located across the street from the new Wal-Mart location. Currently, plans are being completed to build a new Bank office in Castroville located on Hwy 90 East.

With a local Board of Directors, officers and employees, Security State Bank has earned a reputation for responding to requests quickly and building long term relationships. Our president, Mike Wilson, sums it up by saying, “everything we do is with the idea that the banking relationship must be good for the customer and for the bank.” With that in mind, we would like to thank you for taking the time to visit the Bank’s website and we would like to assist you in changing your financial institution by completing the following forms and bringing them with you when you visit one of our convenient locations in Pearsall, Pleasanton, Devine, Natalia and our branch that will be coming soon in Castroville.

To open a new account with Security State Bank, please print and complete the New Account information sheet and bring it with you when you visit one of our locations. This account may be opened if you are currently receiving a direct deposit from a current employer or Social Security benefits. You can print and complete the Direct Deposit Change Form and bring with you as well. Some changes of direct deposit can be made by phone. If you have questions for the Social Security Administration, you may call their offices at 800-772-1213.

Some customers prefer to set up insurance payments, phone bill payments or other electronic charges directly to their checking account. We can make this easier for you as well with the Automatic Payment Change Form included on this website. To ensure that all of your automatic charges and direct deposits have been switched, you may want to wait to close your account at your current bank until all of these items have had a chance to be changed and are now reflected in your account with this bank. The Bank has also included an Account Closing Request you may use to close your account with your current bank.

Identity theft, hacking, phishing and debit/credit card scams continue to rise. Protect yourself with the following information:
  • Never disclose your account information over the phone unless you have initiated the call.
  • NEVER allow your debit card out of your sight. For ALL recurring payments to your account, ALWAYS use a Credit Card. USING A CREDIT CARD OR SETTING UP A RECURRING MONTHLY CHARGE DIRECTLY FROM YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT AFFORDS YOU, THE CONSUMER, MORE PROTECTION THAN BY USING YOUR DEBIT CARD.
  • Cut up old cards by cutting through the account number on any debit/credit card.
  • DO NOT carry your pin number in your wallet and DO NOT put your debit/credit card number in your phone.
  • REMEMBER!!! Debit card transactions are removed immediately from your account balance. A STOP PAYMENT CAN NOT be done for any debit card transaction. The transaction can only be disputed.
